City of Marysville to Implement Transaction Fees for Electronic Payments
Effective January 1, 2025, the City of Marysville will implement transaction fees for credit/debit card and electronic check payments for utilities, income tax, and other city-related services.
Why the Change?
Currently, the City absorbs the transaction fees charged by payment processing companies. However, the cost has increased significantly in recent years. This change will allow the City to allocate resources more effectively toward enhancing services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Transaction Fees:
Credit/Debit Card: 3.5% with a minimum of $2.50
E-Check: $0.95
24/7 Pay-By-Phone: $0.40 (in addition to card or e-check fee)
Fee-Free Payment Options:
Cash: Pay in person at City Hall.
Check: Mail or submit in person.
Bank's Online Bill Pay: Utilize your bank's online bill pay service.
Automatic Payments (ACH): Make automatic utility payments through your bank's ACH network at no cost. Authorization forms are available on our website.
